Georgette's journey in law began when she was called to the Bar in 2003. She initially honed her skills in litigation before transitioning to specialize in conveyancing and probate matters. Her expertise extends to handling complex real estate transactions, including the sale and purchase of both commercial and residential properties. Georgette is adept at navigating the intricacies of mortgage preparation and registration, as well as overseeing the legal aspects of real estate developments, construction contracts, and subdivision applications.

In addition to her proficiency in property law, Georgette is highly regarded for her prowess in estate planning. She has a proven track record of assisting clients in securing grants of probate and administration from the Supreme Court, ensuring their affairs are meticulously managed and protected.

Candice Stewart
Candice brings a wealth of expertise and leadership as the Managing Partner of our firm. With a dynamic background spanning various facets of law, she is recognized for her extensive proficiency in land acquisitions, property transactions, company formation, and entertainment law.

Graduating from the University of the West Indies' Faculty of Law and the esteemed Norman Manley Law School, Candice was admitted to practice in 2005. Since then, she has been a driving force in the legal landscape, excelling in her roles and leaving a significant mark in each endeavor.

Candice's professional journey includes serving as an associate in the conveyancing department of a leading Jamaican law firm. Her tenure there provided invaluable experience, laying the foundation for her subsequent roles. Following her time at the firm, she assumed the pivotal position of Manager, Legal Services at one of Jamaica's pioneering land management companies. Here, she oversaw the Legal Services department, offering supervisory guidance to attorneys, customer service representatives, and paralegal officers. Candice played a pivotal role in the company's mission to streamline cadastral mapping and secure registered titles for clients.

At Juris Partners, Candice's practice extends far beyond traditional boundaries. She is deeply immersed in estate planning, adept at navigating the intricacies of probate and administration matters. Her expertise also encompasses the negotiation and preparation of residential and commercial leases, as well as the meticulous handling of mortgages and restrictive covenant modifications through Supreme Court applications.

In addition to her legal practice, Candice is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals. Since 2012, she has served as an Associate Tutor in Landlord and Tenant law at the Norman Manley Law School, imparting her knowledge and insights to aspiring lawyers. Active within the legal community, Candice has held key roles, including Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education sub-committee of the Jamaican Bar Association.

Teri-Ann A. Lawson
Teri-Ann brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to our firm, serving as the Partner overseeing our Commercial and Litigation Departments. With a distinguished career spanning diverse disciplines within the legal field, Teri-Ann has established herself as a trusted advisor and accomplished practitioner.

Called to the Bar in 2006, Teri-Ann's extensive commercial portfolio reflects her adeptness in navigating complex transactions and providing strategic counsel to a wide array of clients. Her repertoire includes company formation and restructuring, drafting intricate shareholders' agreements, licensing and distribution agreements, and negotiating transactions for various sectors, from automotive businesses to large educational institutions and consultancy firms. Teri-Ann's proficiency extends to preparing trademark registrations, cannabis license applications, and advising on employment, independent contractor agreements, and construction contracts. She is also sought after for her expertise in policy creation and development, encompassing areas such as data protection, energy policies, and tax matters.

In addition to her commercial prowess, Teri-Ann's litigation practice is equally impressive. She has provided counsel and prepared opinions for major financial institutions, manufacturing entities, statutory bodies, and hoteliers across civil and commercial litigation matters. Teri-Ann's litigation experience includes representing clients before the Supreme Court of Jamaica and the Court of Appeal, where she has successfully instructed imminent Queen's Counsel and negotiated settlements. Her dedication to alternative dispute resolution is evident in her involvement in Court-ordered Mediation proceedings before the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica.

Teri-Ann's comprehensive legal background also encompasses conveyancing and probate, where she has handled intricate real estate transactions, including sales and purchases of commercial and residential properties, preparation and registration of mortgages, construction contracts, subdivision applications, and lease agreements.

Complementing her legal acumen, Teri-Ann holds a Certificate in Mediation Practice at the Parish Court level and is trained in Supreme Court level mediations. She is an active member of the Jamaican Bar Association, having served as Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education sub-committee and as a former member of the Council. Additionally, Teri-Ann has been an Associate Tutor at the Norman Manley Law School since 2012, contributing to the development of future legal professionals.
